The quality of Silvio’s mock-ups attracted the attention of museologists. At the end of 1997 the artist was called upon by the director of the Sacred Art Museum of São Paulo (MAS), Ms. Mari Marino, to assemble a XVIII Century Neapolitan Manger/Nativity scene – bought and donated to Brazil by an industrial entrepreneur in 1940. The Via Napolitana, with 110 m2 in all, had been assembled in 1940 and again in 1960, but with time had deteriorated, leaving only the human figures and objects. According to Silvio, the project posed an exciting puzzle of historical reconstitution.
